How Does Race Camera Work?

Race Camera is one of the most sophisticated and useful smartphone apps that you can have on your phone. This exiting app makes full use of your smartphones capability such as the gravimeter, GPS, video recorder, clock, data capture and storage. With Race Camera you can capture all the action on the track or your drive home. The app can be easily installed on iPhone/ Android devices and is simple-to-use.

How do I use Race Camera?

  • Download and install the app on your iPhone or Android smartphone.
  • Go to the “Settings” page and set parameters such as team name, units of measure, what data to display, and whether you want to use the front and back cameras or just front camera.
  • Mount your smartphone on your vehicle’s windshield or your own body (see How to Mount page).
  • Start the Race Camera app on your smartphone. When you are ready, press the green Record button. Race Camera is now recording high-quality videos and storing data about it.
  • Press the red Stop button to stop recording. At this point, you can go to the “Videos” page and review your video on the phone, or save it to your camera’s storage to share with others.

Data Display

One of the many unique features of Race Camera is its ability to record, display, and send data that is recorded with the video. All sensor data is recorded. With the data you can analyze your recorded event such as a race, a drive, or a walk. Graph time over distance, speed at any time interval, average speed, acceleration at any point on the video, etc. The ways you can use the data recorded is up to your imagination.
